Nigel Wood built up Telequip from scratch into a successful telecoms company that supplied other businesses with their telephone systems, lines and calls. It was one of the first regional telcos to succesfully re-sell services from the big name networks, integrating fixed and mobile telephony, voice and data, equipment and airtime into one proposition.

Telequip developed its own unique telecoms management software so that all a customer's services could be managed by a single account manager and billed on one simple monthly account. Telequip provided one point of responsibility and a personal service when larger suppliers retrenched into big call centres.

The company was sold in 2004 to Carphone Warehouse and continues to this day under their brand name Opal Telecom.

Network Red is a new umbrella company to handle Nigel's ongoing telecoms business interests.

Nigel is also an occasional Angel Investor and is currently an early stage investor in two small businesses. Horizons Guides publishes innovative travel guides focussed on the growing city break travel market. Censornet develops web filtering software to control what people see and do on the internet, keeping browsing safe in schools and employees productive at work. Censornet can be licensed for physical and virtual servers and for use in an ISP enviroment.
